Murray Bridge 24 Hour HPV Event 2019

DETAILS
Thursday afternoon deliver all bags, tents equipment to School (or by 7.30 am Friday)

Friday

Transport leaving 8.30am (either):
-          School Toyota Hilux Staff/ Equipment
-          14-seater School Bus & enclosed trailer with all student luggage

An additional 10.15 run only if required
-          School Bus - BUT No trailer to carry luggage

Transport with parents at other agreed times (latest Sat 8am)

Sunday

Return Trip:

We ask that parents/carers organise to have students picked up from Murray Bridge on Sunday afternoon post-race as we will only have limited space for up to 4 students to return, in school vehicles, to the school on Sunday afternoon.

Please let Mr Lentakis know if you need to return home in a school vehicle.

COST $120 per student

This will cover all meals between and including dinner Friday to lunch Sunday. You will need money or prepacked lunch for Friday. This payment will also provide you with a Track entry pass ($15.00 Value) as well as go towards hire of the large marquee and mobile cool room that we have as part of our pits at the Murray Bridge event. 

The payment for this event must be made via the school portal.

An email containing Medical form and payment advice regarding the Murray Bridge 2019 event will be received by you this week. It is expected that this payment be made no later than 19 September 2019.

Parents and siblings over 10yo will be required to pay the $15 gate fee on entry into the MB Track. This is a one-off charge for the weekend, and you can then come and go as you please.

Parent Meeting

As detailed at the Parent meeting on 5 September:

  • Parents are requested to volunteer their help in the camp kitchen over the duration of the event (including the “graveyard shift” to ensure students waiting to ride are fed and hydrated as required)
  • Marshalling rosters to be completed (when marshalling times have been allocated closer to the event)
  • Volunteers required to help with set up (on Friday) and pack up (on Sunday) at the event.
  • Riders are required to bring a 10 Litre box of water each, which can be delivered with camping gear on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.
  • Each team member (rider) is also to supply a small amount of extra snacks each, to be shared, as outline below:

*  Senior team: muffin/biscuit type snacks (preferably not cakes which need cutting up) (please note snacks need to be nut-free)
*  Junior team: Bananas only (riders eat LOTS to help with cramping!!)

*  Girls team:   apples or pears or oranges

[These extra snacks and fruit will be cut up and available to riders in between meals and rides as required.]

Accommodation

Accommodation for the two nights is in tents provided by the students.

It is student’s responsibility to arrange this and not leave it until the last day. The site for tents is directly behind our pit area.

Parents are also able set up tents or caravans / camper trailers in this area if they wish.

What to bring
  • Tents to sleep in (Students to supply as described above)
  • Clothing suitable for 2½ days (prepare for cold and/or hot depending on forecast)
  • Suitable riding gear, HPV drink bottle and Helmet (bring a few tops as they don’t dry)
  • Pembroke HPV riders jersey, polo shirt, and hat.
  • Toiletries (incl sunscreen, insect repellent and towel)
  • Sleeping bag, pillow, pillow case (we will not have any spares)
  • Sleeping mat / airbed (large normal foam mattresses will be left at school)
  • Any personal medical requirements (please update us if any conditions have changed since the last event)
